This past week and next week are the worst for me, in terms of midterm exams and papers. School hasn’t killed me yet, but it very well might in the coming week. I’m most nervous about my Chinese midterm paper (1000 characters is a lot!) and my Censorship and the Media exam. Oh well, study hard (or write hard?) and hopefully I’ll get through this coming week in one piece.
Not that I can really complain about doing anything “in one piece” because my boyfriend is actually literally falling apart. Well, at least his right ankle/calf area is. He injured his right ankle in volleyball practice and thought he had just twisted it. Well, it turns out he had actually torn the ligaments on both sides of his right ankle. Not only that, but the ligament that holds his tibia and fibula together tore up to his knee, causing the two bones to start to separate. He’s in a soft cast type thing now, but if the whole situation with his bones and muscles don’t get better in the next few weeks, he’s going to have to get surgery so they can put a screw in his leg and hold it together.
Needless to say, that sounds incredibly painful and awful (not to mention kind of disgusting). Because he’s on crutches and in a soft cast thing, I’ve been trying to help him out so that his life is a little more comfortable, a little more convenient. So far this means gracing him with my presence so he can experience the wondrousness of the pleasure of my company (*insert laughter here*) and things like doing laundry, cleaning his room, carrying his things while he gets from Point A to Point B, that kind of thing. I’ve adapted quite well to the role of a “dorm wife” if I do say so myself!

Good luck with your midterms and exams! That is always a really stressful time. I hope your boyfriend’s ankle feels better soon. I broke my ankle playing softball when I was in school and it was such a horrible thing to have to go through. I’m sure the people around me didn’t have a good time either!
Yikes, that sounds very painful! I hope your boyfriend feels better soon too, that does not sound like fun. I’ve never broken a bone so I can’t even imagine.
PS I hope this isn’t creepy but I totally just added you on Facebook
Oy! I wish your boyfriend well! I didn’t even know that it was possible for muscles to reattach on their own. That is painful! Looks like you’ll be a fantastic wife when the time comes.
Also, good luck to you on your exams! I hope that you don’t burn out looking after your boyfriend and studying!
