Weekly Wrap-up #20 (powered by internship offers, important assignments, and a messed up sleep schedule)

I received an internship offer from a prestigious federal agency that I would be so happy to work for last week. I am waiting to hear back on another position I applied for at another company which would also be another fantastic opportunity; I will find out on Monday whether or not I have an internship offer from them. Either way, I will have something great lined up for next semester, internship-wise. Needless to say, I’m really excited. Talk about wonderful news before Thanksgiving break!

This week has been crazy hectic. I had the majority of my second-to-last “big” assignments due this past week, as all my deadlines after Thanksgiving break are for final projects, papers, and/or exams. The funny thing is, all of my assignments that were due this week were all due on Wednesday. Considering that I got straight from 9a.m. to 8p.m. on most Tuesdays without a break, this was a bit of a problem (especially since this past Tuesday I wasn’t free till 9p.m. to start doing homework!). Luckily, I got all my work done (although that last essay I handed in was looking a little rough around the edges, but I didn’t have time to fix it up as nice as I’d have liked to).

Either way, I’m so glad that this coming week is Thanksgiving break. I am leaving on Monday to go to Indianapolis to spend the holiday with my boyfriend and his family. I’m ecstatic about the prospect of a week where I won’t have to worry about going to class, interning, working, doing homework, etc. I mean, I slept for 12 hours straight last night, which is a definite sign that something is awry with my sleep schedule. (I do feel rather refreshed thanks to such a full night’s sleep, though!) Plus, I’m excited to see see my boyfriend’s family; they are so lovely and it will help me with missing my own family. (My family is probably as scattered we will ever be right now – I’m in DC, my mom is in Hong Kong, and my brother is in Hawaii.)

It will be a wonderful Thanksgiving break. I’m really looking forward to it.

  2. Congratulations! If anything, you should totally just catch up on sleep during Thanksgiving. Sleeping 12 hours straight means that you haven’t been getting enough.

I hope that you family will get together soon! It must be difficult if they’re scattered all over the world.
