My brother is sitting at the table across from me with his laptop open. Suddenly, his laptop begins to play a song I don’t recognize, although I do identify that it is sung in Japanese. He starts warbling along in his pathetic attempts at Japanese and begins to move his arms to the music. As the song continues, his dancing gradually becomes more intense, until it takes over his whole body and he’s standing up, flailing in front of his laptop.
I observe for a minute or two because I just have no idea how to react to this scene. Finally, I say, “This seems like a song and dance routine you and your friends have all memorized and do together simultaneously in your dorm room.”
My brother stops dancing and singing instantly, then says sheepishly, “You know me all too well.”
