I always find the week between Christmas and New Year’s to be an odd time. Not in a bad way or anything but still, odd. I always picture the few days in between to be the equivalent of a no man’s land, or something. Christmas has just passed, but you still want to celebrate the holidays, but New Year’s hasn’t arrived yet. Eh, I’m not articulating this very well, so I’m just going to leave it. But still… odd!
I haven’t been doing much this week besides reading, aside from the day my brother and I explored Michigan Ave (the “Magnificent Mile”) and walked along Navy Pier. Oh, and aside from going to my boyfriend’s family’s holiday party. It’s been a while since I’ve been to any holiday party, family or not. It was really fun and his family was all so lovely. So very large, though; I have seven first cousins in total and I don’t even know where to begin to start counting how many aunts and uncles he has, let alone cousins!
Today is New Year’s Eve, which of course means festivities and shenanigans will be occurring tonight to bring in the New Year. Last year, I’m pretty sure I struggled to stay awake till midnight as I was staying at my aunt’s and her two young sons had pretty much drained all the energy out of me very early on in the evening. This year, though, I’ve got plans with my friends, which I am super excited about. I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year, no matter what you decide to do. After all, according to the Mayans, it’ll be our last New Year ever, so better make it count!

Yeah, I know what you mean. It’s a strange time and you sort of just feel in limbo. Like you are in between holidays but you’re not really on holiday while you’re waiting?
I hope you had a wonderful New Years!
