Tumblr

About two weeks ago I stopped updating my daily happiness journal on Tumblr. My original goal was to update it for a year, and I did update that journal all throughout 2011. Now, though, I feel like I have achieved what the goal of that journal was: to realize that every day, I do have something to be happy about, no matter what went on that day.

Also, closing up shop with my daily happiness journal gave me a reason to create a personal Tumblr account. There’s a ton of great stuff on Tumblr and I’ve always wanted to play around with it and be part of the Tumblrverse (if that’s even a word!). So, I present to you: musicalpoem, my personal Tumblr account.

tl;dr: If you’re on Tumblr, add me! ;)

Public Service Announcement: Not Everyone Should Blog

This particular revelation, while nothing new, was brought to you by my reading a blog entry (on a blog outlet vetted by my school, no less) that made me physically cringe because it was so awfully written. The worst part of it is the fact that the individual that wrote the entry has a background in communications!

Just because everyone can blog in today’s day and age doesn’t mean that everyone actually should. Especially if the content you write for a blog is going to represent you academically and/or professionally. (Take note, Author of Aforementioned Horrific Blog Entry.)

Twitter 101

Boyfriend: I don’t get Twitter. No one tweets at me!
Me: Well, you don’t have to tweet at someone. You can just tweet.
Boyfriend: Tweet about what?
Me: I mean, whatever. Here, take a look at my Twitter for some examples.
Boyfriend: Your latest tweet says “I really want chocolate cake. Better yet, a chocolate malt milkshake.”
Me: Okay, maybe that wasn’t the greatest example.
Boyfriend: People actually tweet stuff like that?
Me: Hey, someone could’ve brought me cake or a milkshake after reading my tweet! Things like that DO happen!
